At the next@acer global press conference in Berlin, Germany, Acer has revealed an innovative new gaming laptop concept called Project DualPlay. This Predator-branded device pushes the boundaries of on-the-go gaming experiences.
The key feature of Project DualPlay is its versatile design that caters to both single-player and multiplayer gaming. The laptop features a vast touchpad that doubles as a built-in, detachable wireless controller. Players can simply place two fingers on the release button atop the keyboard to unleash the controller from its electromagnetic lock.
Activating the detachable controller also triggers the emergence of two high-fidelity, 5-watt pop-out speakers from the sides of the laptop. This creates an immersive, 360-degree audio experience that brings games to life.
For multiplayer sessions, the detachable controller can be further split into two separate joysticks. This makes Project DualPlay ideal for head-to-head combat in the latest fighting games, such as Capcom’s Street Fighter 6. Players can seamlessly switch between keyboard and controller inputs to suit their preferred playstyle.
Completing the cutting-edge design is customizable 360-degree dynamic RGB lighting across the keyboard, screen bezels, wide trackpad, and even the detachable controller’s joysticks. An infinity mirror lighting bar at the back of the laptop adds to the device’s striking visual appeal.
With Project DualPlay, Acer is innovating the gaming laptop market, promising unique experiences and engagement for players of all levels. This bold concept represents a significant step forward in the convergence of portable and social gaming.
