The movie was made to commemorate the release of the next big movie in the franchise, Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram – the 27th film in the franchise.
As mentioned, this is a compilation movie and contains remakes of scenes from various moments in the long-running anime series where Conan interacts with Kaitou Kid.
This also includes the iconic scene when Conan encounters Kaitou Kid for the first time on the Haido City Hotel rooftop, along with moments from Episodes 219, 356, and 473.
If you are somehow unfamiliar with Detective Conan, it is a crime manga series by mangaka Gosho Aoyama and has been running since 1994.
The premise is simple. It follows high schooler detective Shinichi Kudo, whose body was transformed into that of an elementary school-age child by a mysterious organization.
The story generally follows Shinichi, who adopts the pseudonym Conan, solving a multitude of cases.
