Afro-beat Pop singer Wakai JR

Wakai Jr born in Monrovia, Liberia, currently based in the USA, is an Afro-beat Pop singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer. Afro-beat is a music genre that involves the combination of elements of West African musical styles such as Fuji music and highlife with American jazz and later soul and funk influences, with a focus on chanted vocals, complex intersecting rhythms, and percussion.

This 28-year-old pop singer moved to the United States in 2007 to pursue his ambitions. America is the land of opportunities and he knew that if he wants to fulfill his dreams then he must move there. He was fond of music in his childhood. He has released some singles of his own and he now also owns his independent record label “Jo Records”. An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding of major record labels; they are a type of small to medium-sized enterprises or SMEs.

His songs are available on all popular digital media platforms such as Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple music, etc. He has become a master of his craft now and he is giving a really tough time to his fellow Afro-beat artists. Some create music to kill time. Some create just for fun. Some create music out of necessity, some people have a passion for music, but it rather serves as personal therapy for the artist. He makes music that creates a blissful and hopeful escape for his fans from their daily life hurdles while keeping them widely entertained.

Wakai Jr wants to be a future star whose name stays in the Music Industry for years to come and wants to become a source of inspiration for youngsters. He has recently joined the Higher Level Entertainment; the management company behind some of the fresh-faces of Liberian Artists. Currently, Wakai Jr has ranked as one of the Top 10 African artists from Liberia.

He is an emerging artist and his influence is spreading far and wide with time. Wakai Jr has more than 20K followers on Instagram to date.
